Training options

Iowa State University offers employees, students, and groups CPR / AED / First Aid training options through a contracted vendor. Fees include course materials and a two-year certification. 

  • Individual employees and students

    Individuals may attend a four-hour CPR, AED, and First Aid training session at the Environmental Health and Safety Services Building. This course is designed for participants to learn and be certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid. This course also serves as a recertification course for CPR, AED, and First Aid.

    There is a $110.00 fee per person. A worktag will be needed to pay for this course. Please see your supervisor or office administrator if you are unsure what worktag to use. Sessions can be canceled within five business days of the scheduled session if there is insufficient enrollment. EH&S will notify participants to reschedule this course for a future date.   • Groups and departments

    Option 1

    Your group may request a four-hour CPR, AED, and First Aid training at your location. 

    • This course is designed for participants to learn and be certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid.
    • This course also serves as a recertification course for CPR, AED, and First Aid.

    There is a fee per course, with a maximum of 9 participants. You may have up to 15 participants with an additional charge per person. For groups with more than 15 participants in a session, an additional charge for a second instructor will be incurred. Departments are responsible for arranging a training room.

    Option 2

    Your group may request a three-hour CPR/AED-only at your location. 

    • CPR/AED-only training is designed for participants to learn and be certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR and AED. This course meets the requirements for initial training for new AED owners or for recertification in CPR and AED.

    There is a fee per course, with a maximum of 9 participants. You may have up to 15 participants with an additional charge per person. For groups of more than 15 participants in a session, an additional charge for a second instructor will be incurred. Departments are responsible for arranging a training room.

Requests must be made 3-4 weeks before the requested class date. Once the class has been confirmed and scheduled, the requestor will be contacted for payment and charged after the class is held.

Fees and cancellations

Fees are subject to change and must be paid with a worktag. There is a price adjustment for evening and weekend classes; please email ehstrain@iastate.edu for more information. 

Cancellation or rescheduling must be done within five calendar days of the event to avoid a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the cost of the session unless related to situations outside of anyone's control, such as weather or emergency situations.

The cost is $1,095.00 per session for up to 9 participants. For each additional person (up to 15), there is an additional $110 charge.
The cost is $895.00 per session for up to 9 participants. For each additional person (up to 15), there is an additional $100 charge.

Maximum number of participants per session is 15. If you have more than nine participants, each additional attendee will have a cost per person.
