Hot and humid weather conditions are coming, so it is important for everyone to discuss the risk factors associated with working in the sun and hot environments.

Heat Stress

Heat stress includes a series of conditions where the body is under stress from overheating. Heat-related illnesses include heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heat rash, or heat stroke; each with its own symptoms and treatments. Symptoms can include profuse sweating, dizziness, cessation of sweating, and collapse.

Heat Stress Training

EH&S offers Heat Related Illness Training. This Workday training module is geared towards preventing heat-related illnesses. Anyone working in hot temperatures and environments should be trained on heat stress.
