Severe Storm Spotter Training

March 27, 2013, 1:30-3:30 pm, in the Memorial Union Sun Room

Environmental Health and Safety at Iowa State University is proud to host Severe Storm Spotter Training presented by the National Weather Service, Des Moines. The training is especially encouraged for departments that have people working outdoors, but is open to anyone. Whether you work or play on a sports field, golf course, farm, or yard, this class could be life saving.

Training highlights include severe weather climatology, different severe weather threats and how to identify them, severe thunderstorm types, how to report severe weather, spotter safety and severe weather communications.
