Holiday Break Information

Environmental Health and Safety will be closed the following days due to the holiday break and university partial shutdown.

Monday and Tuesday, December 24 & 25 – University holiday, office closed

Wednesday-Monday, December 26-December 31 - office closed

Tuesday, January 1 - University holiday, office closed

Wednesday, January 2 – normal business hours resume.

Incinerator will be operating on Wednesday, December 26.

Hazardous Materials Shipping

During the week of December 24, EH&S will only process shipments containing dry ice and/or non-infectious animal or human specimens on Wednesday-Thursday, December 26-27. Shipments of hazardous chemicals and infectious materials will not be processed this week.

During the week of December 31, hazardous shipments will be processed Wednesday-Thursday, January 2-3.

Hazardous materials shipment requests must be submitted online no later than 2:30 pm on the day of the shipment.

No radioactive material package processing will occur during the closure.

Hazardous waste collection 

There will be no collection of hazardous waste or incinerator operation Monday-Friday, December 24-28 and Monday-Tuesday, December 31-January 1.  Regular operations resume on Wednesday, January 2.
