Primary Responsibilities
Assists in the management of environmental programs, including Unwanted Materials Collections and the oversight of the underground storage tank/leaking underground storage tank (UST/LUST) programs using the Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA) process. Ensures compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), assisting with day-to-day operations in the Regulated Materials Facility (RMF), as well as incinerator operations at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Works with database development and management and performs environmental assessments. Responsible for implementing the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan and for providing SPCC and Chem 550 training. Responsible for oversight of regulatory requirements covered under Iowa's NPDES Storm Water General Permit No. 2, and Iowa State University Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4).
