Primary Responsibilities

Manages university programs involving air, water, soil, and hazardous waste management. Implements federal, state, and university regulations related to environmental stewardship. Supervises hazardous material collection, redistribution, and disposal; monitors pathological waste destruction; and protects above-ground and underground storage tanks. Leads a team of experienced environmental specialists. Anticipates environmental emergencies on campus, responds to hazardous chemical releases, and mitigates chemical hazards. Develops educational materials and conducts environmental health and safety training for faculty, staff, and students.
